My recollection is that X Trails fitted with the (Renault 2.0 dci) diesel engine had a conventional 6 speed auto. Only the petrol versions had the CVT option.

There is a 2008/09 XKRS with the 4.2 SC, I got one in January and its amazing, 2 years looking out for one and kept it under wraps and its getting attention everywhere I go

How does a 2010-2012 European one, with around 2.5 or higher behave with a couple of adults, their luggage and driving in mountains with bad weather? I would assume not really too bad, because of the torque (the diesel ones especially i'd guess?)? I would like to know from both 4wd version and none 4wd. Anyone?

i have owned a v50 and aslo my grandpa and mom all of them suffered broken sprinngs in the front and ive also seen that the pcv hose to the cylinder head are of a bad material in the early models 2,4i

My 2005 L322 had rusted rear-wheel arches, broken waterpump, severely compromised alternator, one of the parking sensors not working, and some electrical faults leading to the gauge needles intermittently becoming paralyzed and not moving at all, while the rest of the dash works fine. All in all well within spec for a car nearing 20 years old. Damn good car though. The L322 is something else to drive and to experience, but make sure to take good care of it and treat it well. It's a machine and it's an overbuilt, overdesigned tank that is actually rather easy to work on.

How the hell is a individual supposed to check engine oil for all engine oil stop leak goop additives at home ? Unless you're a friggin nerd scientist with the engine oil additive test bed instrument's at home then yay can be done, but the way you spewed it is like anyone can spot oil additives in used oil. Period.

If you’re looking for a convertible, double check the weather seals all around the vehicle. Drop the top halfway and examine the mechanism for dry crusty seals at all the connection points. Dry or cracked seals are a red flag. They required special care and maintenance from the previous owner. Neglected cars have leaking c and a pillars and the replacement seals are difficult to find now. Just be wary, buyer. These vehicles are timeless, but they are still older now.

Hi I am german and have had E46's (3 so far) since 20 years. Now I own a 330 CI 2001 26 Dec built. Your biggest enemy is obv. other people driving your car and or other traffic. When it comes to buying a used one, your biggest enemy is rust. Especially in the sills - I replaced the whole left sill on my current car because of massive rust problems - I had to weld it in and also had to do a whole paint job (to make the color fit again). Rust is our biggest enemy, do not buy rusted E46! If you see rust under the door (on the small exposed colored sill bar under the door), do not buy it. It means that the sill already has lots of rust inside. If you see rust on the BACK wheel arch - do not buy it (the front do not really matter, can be easily replaced). There are still E46 without rust, people who were smart enough to do cavity sealing when the car was new.

I love this video. AND… I LOVE my SMG convertible. I’ve performed 3 of the BIG 3+1 repairs with my own hands in my own garage. Fortunately I have not yet witnessed a need to do the +1 repair (failed head gasket). For those who are looking to get into this spectacular ride, here is my additional advice: DO consider buying the SMG model. My SMG can outrun the manual 6-speed EVERY TIME under any conditions. Yes… I have experienced the failed SMG pump… TWICE! Here’s the thing… it’s NOT the pump. The pump rarely fails. It’s only the pump motor. The brushes eat through the commutator at 60,000 miles. A simple (sort of) $350 motor rewind - or a new $500 motor will solve the problem. While you’re at it, relocate the entire pump assembly to a serviceable location. In my case, I relocated it to the drug well in front passenger-side of the engine bay. Keep a spare motor on hand. When my pump motor fails again (at 180,000 miles), my awesome SMG will be back on its feet in less than 30 minutes. Happy driving!

Found a 2016 w212 e200 petrol engine automatic gear with 89k km. It's clean, and I wanted to see if there is any specific concern to consider.

Finally a perfect guide that tells everything you need. I personally own a V50 with a D4 engine, which as you said is very rare for this model and not many people know it even exists. They are actually still very expensive and keep on rising in price. It really is bulletproof and very fuel efficient. Bought it at about 170k kilometres 4 years ago, now has little over 250k kilometres. I will drive it till the engine fails, or the body rusts to dust. Have a feeling it still has a long way to go as my first car.

the 2.5t engine was not called a t5, it was a low pressure turbo. t5 engine were either 2.3 or 2.4l.

2 hours ago WARNING I-Pace may set on fire WARNING, SAFETY MESSAGE TO ALL JAGUAR i-Pace customers. This is not a review about this dealership, this is a review of the after service offered to customers with a Jaguar I-Pace four years old. We bought an I-Pace 5 months ago and an issue has developed where the car will not charge past 75% and there is now a warning light stating traction battery issue drive with caution. We have had the car independently put through a Jaguar diagnostic and there is a known fault with a battery software update. This is a serious issue that has resulted in a recall in America and in the UK. This means our 2020 I-Pace is at risk of a smoking battery that may set on fire. Despite this Jaguar refuse to offer the software update unless we pay £432 for another diagnostic, and will not confirm they will do the safety update. To top it all the earliest they will look at the car is June, as they deem this not an urgent issue, as we are able to drive the car. This is very concerning and if you are currently looking to buy an I-Pace 2020 or before, either through Jaguar or any other dealer, please please make sure they confirm it has had the H441software update and make sure it has been done to safeguard you and your family. Thank you.

The steptronic transmissions are water cooled, and if the cooler fails,it allows coolant to mix with the transmission fluid.The water in the coolant is especially bad for the 5L40E gearboxes because it damages the electronics inside the gearbox

Gearbox info is incorrect. My W204 has a 5 speed automatic. I don't think there's a 6 speed auto. It's either 5 speed or 7 speed for the auto box, I think.

Picked up a 2008 X Trail Aventura DCi (manual) about 3 months ago. So far so good! I'm 6' 3", happy with ergonomics. Dash is simply laid out and very intuitive. Steering feels sharp and responsive. Handling is good, stiff enough without feeling abrasive. No off road use yet. Fuel economy is as published and I'm satisfied with it. Reasonable power (173 BHP), more than enough. Basically, my ONLY complaint is .. auto windscreen wipers .. first time I've experienced it and I hate it .. juddering across the windscreen constantly .. just the worst invention ever!! I mostly just flick the wiper intermittently myself! I would've preferred reversing sensors, but the camera's OK, a very usable alternative! But yes, I'd definitely recommend test driving the X Trail if you're looking at this vehicle category..

It would have been cool if the U.S. got a coupe version. I never buy 4 door cars.

Another thing worth mentioning which would be applicable to the cars with active exhausts - the actuators which open and close the exhaust flaps can also fail which is quite costly. I had to change mine for £1.5k! Another thing is that the seals around the boot can also fail causing water ingress, that wasn’t too difficult to solve with some silicone but worth mentioning. Overall this car really does feel special and brings a smile every time you drive it.

I just drive the V50 from 2012. One of the last models. A few hoses needed new. Coupling was changed by 320.000 km. Now my car has driven 346.000 km. The only one Problem I have now, is an Injection Ring. I have to get new copper rings to the injection. Then it's all ready again, quiet and thrifty, with Bio-free Diesel and another material ;-) ... It's very thrifty
